About

Lylah Antares Jarvis grew up in a small town on the Navajo Reservation and on 40 acres in the mountains in Colorado. Her memories of her childhood, her connection to the Navajo culture, the land, and relationships to her family and friends inspire so much of her artwork. Having spent her Junior year of high school in New Zealand, college in Maine and then finishing back in her hometown, Durango, Colorado.Lylah learned to incorporate her life experiences and influences into her work. Working in drawing and printmaking in college and finally settling into glass blowing and art for children. Lylah appreciates both the control, skills, and discipline required in fine art as well as the freedom and playful creativity that art for children allows.
She also teaches art with children and finds so much joy in balancing the creative and the technical aspects of creating work. Her inspiration and ideas are greatly influences by her deep connection to nature and the cultures she grew up in and is so greatly supported by her close family and friends.
